Oct 16th - busy week
A Good Kind of Busy 💙💙
Another busy week in the books for the Lehr boys! But this time, it was a good kind of busy.
We have had so many weeks filled with challenges, setbacks, procedures, and uncertainty that it’s nice to have a week where we can simply say… things are going well.
Declan continues to make us so proud. He is doing incredibly well, and every day we are seeing more and more of his little personality.
He had his circumcision and additional repairs this week, and thankfully, everything went well.
He’s recovering nicely and getting right back to being Declan. He still wants everyone’s attention, loves being held, and makes sure we all know when he has something to say. Some things never change!
We are feeling hopeful and grateful for how far he has come.
Colton is just the sweetest little soul. He is patient, happy, and always ready for snuggles. And food. Lots of food! This boy LOVES his bottle, and watching him enjoy something so simple brings us so much happiness.
He’s continuing to grow, work hard, and move forward at his own pace. He might not be in a hurry, but he certainly knows how to melt everyone’s hearts along the way.
And speaking of food… both boys are officially exploring baby food!
Bananas, peaches, and sweet potatoes have made their way onto the menu. Watching them experience new tastes and textures is another one of those little milestones that feels so big to us. After everything these boys have been through, even something as simple as trying bananas is worth celebrating.
It’s funny how much our perspective has changed over these last eight months. The things we once thought would be ordinary moments of parenthood have become some of our biggest celebrations.
A bottle.
A spoonful of baby food.
A smile.
A snuggle.
A good day.
We don’t take any of it for granted.
It’s been a busy week, a good week, and one that has left us feeling incredibly thankful.
We still have a road ahead of us, but right now, we are enjoying these moments, celebrating the progress, and soaking up every bit of being Mom and Dad.
One day at a time. One milestone at a time. Two very special little boys. 💙💙
