Oct 21st - Rhino Virus Strikes

Another Bump in the Road…

Just when things seem to be moving in the right direction, the NICU reminds us that nothing is ever predictable.

Our sweet Declan has tested positive for rhinovirus (the common cold). For most babies, this might just mean a few sniffles, but for our boys and their little lungs, we have to be extra careful.

Having two babies in the NICU is hard enough, but having to keep them separated makes this momma heart hurt a little more. We moved Colton down the hall, so the boys are no longer next to each other.

Now Mom is getting her steps in, walking back and forth between rooms, trying to be in two places at once. Two babies, two rooms, and one momma who wishes she could split herself in half.

After almost nine months of this journey, the setbacks don’t necessarily get easier. We just keep finding the strength to push through them.

Praying this is a quick bump in the road, that Declan kicks this virus quickly, and that Colton stays healthy.

One day at a time. Sometimes one hour at a time….
