Easter Weekend Update

Easter weekend was such a special one for our family. Dad stayed with the boys while I went home for a bit to spend some much-needed time with Riley (and soak in a little bit of normal life). It meant a lot to have that balance, even if just for a moment.

On Easter, Grandpa Moravec and Grandma Cindy came to visit the boys. It was such a sweet visit, and both boys did amazing, truly on their best behavior the whole time.

Dad is staying in town with them for part of the week, and I swear they know it. They’ve been extra calm, extra sweet, and just soaking up having him there with them.

The biggest news… both boys are growing!

Declan is slowly but surely working his way up with feeds, he’s now at 3 mL every 3 hours. It may sound small, but it’s a huge step for him.

And Colton… he’s officially at full feeds! He’s taking 29 mL every 3 hours, which comes out to about 6 ounces a day. We are so proud of him. The goal right now is simple: grow, grow, grow!

We did receive some tough news…both boys have weak bones right now, and incredibly, both of them have small fractures in both of their arms. It’s heartbreaking to hear and see, but thankfully it doesn’t seem to be causing them pain. Because of this, their arms need to stay more constrained so they can heal properly. The good news is that they are growing babies, and doctors are confident this won’t impact them long-term.

Both boys also joined a new doctor team today, and we’re feeling hopeful about this next step. So far, everything seems very promising.

At the end of the day, we keep coming back to the same thing… these boys are growing, and that is everything we can ask for! 💙💙
