Declan had a really good night. He’s already on lower settings for his lungs, which is such a huge step forward. Even better, he has started peeing a lot, which tells us his kidneys are doing their job. That alone feels like a win.
He is still very puffy and swollen from all the medications, but we are slowly seeing improvement. From the outside, his belly is looking a little better. We are continuing to pray hard that his colon and intestines still have life and will grow and heal. We won’t truly know until they are able to go back in surgically in about 3–4 weeks to see what has grown and what looks healthy.
Until then, our little buddy just needs to keep fighting and stay strong. We have so much faith in him. We believe he is going to surprise everyone, prove the doctors wrong, and show us what miracles look like. Please keep the prayers and positivity coming we feel them!!!
Colton is also proving to be such a fighter with his lungs. He is pushing forward every day, and we are hopeful he could be off the oscillator in the next few days; maybe even tomorrow. He really wants to breathe on his own.
He is feisty, constantly wiggling and trying to grab and hold onto anything he can. He especially loves holding hands and somehow knows how to make mommy stand right there with him and never let go. He’s already the boss.
We are so proud of both of our boys. Hour by hour & Day by day, One day at a time. 🤍
