Declan had a rough start to his day. His heart rate and oxygen kept dipping as he’s learning how to breathe on his own. Sometimes he just forgets, which the doctors say is typical for his preemie age. That’s both reassuring and terrifying for mom and dad at the same time.
The good news is he is growing and his coloring continues to improve. He’s still very swollen, but the swelling is shifting, and as he continues to pee more, we’re hopeful it will keep going down. He is absolutely feeling all the prayers. He is fighting so hard and it’s so obvious.
And in true Declan fashion, he loves holding hands with anyone and everyone. No stranger danger here. 🤍
Colton decided to take matters into his own hands today, literally. He ended up needing a new breathing tube and had to be intubated again. Because of that, he’s now on the same vent as his brother. We’re pretty sure he was just jealous and wanted to match!
He struggled at first learning to breathe with it, but with time he got stronger and more comfortable……….And then mommy got to hold him. Daddy was able to visit and witness, next time he’s there for a visit, it’s his turn for snuggles.
Mom still feels like she’s dreaming and this was one of the top moments of her life. Ever.
We are so grateful. And we’re hopeful that in a couple of weeks, we will be able to hold his brother too.
Thank you for continuing to pray, believe, and fight alongside us. 🤍 We need the miracles and prayers as we still have a long journey.
