We had a very rough start.
Declan had a hard night that had everyone worried; nurses, doctors, even the surgeons. He was having severe episodes where he stopped breathing. His belly became very distended again, putting even more pressure on his tiny lungs. At one point, we were told there may be no coming back from this… and that another surgery is not an option right now. Pray for a miracle.
There were a lot of prayers. A lot of hand-holding. And more mommy tears than anyone can count.
But Declan called the shots.
After hours of sitting bedside holding his little hand, he fought. And for now, he is stable. Stable enough that they gave mom the chance to hold him, a true gift.
We are not out of the woods. We need to get through tonight and the next few days. Our goal is three more weeks three weeks until they can safely go back into his gut and see what’s really going on.
We need every prayer. Every miracle. Just like today. We will keep fighting as hard as he is.
Declan Jet… keep proving the doctors, the surgeons, and the world wrong. We believe in you. We have faith in you.
Colton must have heard mom’s cries. He stayed calm and rested most of the day, with only a few little temper tantrums. Overall, he seemed to know today was about his brother. He needs him. He wants him. And somehow… he knew.
It’s still a long night and a long road ahead.
Please keep the prayers coming. We truly feel them. 🤍
