Feb 27th- 1 month old!

THE BOYS ARE ONE MONTH OLD TODAY.

We made it to one month. The days are so long, but somehow the weeks are short. It’s hard to believe everything that has happened in just 30 days. We are exhausted, emotional, and overwhelmingly grateful. Grateful we got here. Grateful for every single hour with our boys. Grateful for the prayers that have carried us through this first month.

Colton had the most attention today. He got a new PICC line, and thankfully one of his favorite nurses was able to place it, so surgery didn’t have to step in. That alone felt like such a gift. He is now 48 hours negative on his blood cultures 🙏🏼 which feels like a small but mighty victory. He’s receiving more blood and updated fluids as they continue supporting his little body while he fights this infection. We are praying this is the turning point for our sweet boy. He is tired, but he is fighting so hard.

Declan had new dressings placed on his open belly today. We are seeing some movement and signs of activity, which is encouraging. Every tiny positive sign feels huge right now. But he is not out of the woods yet. He still needs a miracle. We are praying boldly that in a few weeks they’ll be able to go back in and see healthy bowel worth saving. His strength amazes us daily, but he needs continued prayers covering every inch of his little body.

The hematology (blood) doctor came in to check on both boys. No big concerns at this time, which we are thankful for. They are both still needing blood frequently, their bodies are working overtime trying to grow, heal, and fight.

One month of life. One month of fighting. One month of watching God show up in ways we never imagined.
