June 2nd

Today was one of those days that reminds us how far the boys have come. Both Colton and Declan had great “green” days filled with smiles, laughs, and positive updates.

Colton is still resting and has quite a bit of swelling in his face, but that's all expected and will continue to improve with time. One of the highlights of the day was that I got to pick him up, hold him for over an hour, and then help put him back in bed. I also got to learn how to do trach ties for the first time, which was both exciting and reassuring as we continue preparing for the future.

Declan spent the day being his lovable self with his butterfly eyes, Pacifier sucking, and hand holding. We're still waiting to find out when he can start eating again. Tomorrow he'll have an X-ray to see if any contrast remains. If it's gone, there's a chance he could have his upper GI study tomorrow; otherwise, it will likely happen Thursday. My personal goal for him is to be eating again by Friday.

Overall, there isn't much else to report and honestly, that's a wonderful thing. Today was filled with good moments, good news, and grateful hearts.

Declan 💙
