June 9th

Today was a wild and busy day for both boys, but overall it was a good one.

Declan had a pretty green, calm day. We were able to switch him over to gravity on him belly juices, and if all goes well overnight, we're hoping to start feeding him tomorrow. Everything depends on how he tolerates things tonight, but we're feeling hopeful.

He did have a few fussy moments today. This boy is angry! He wants food, and he wants that tube out. Otherwise, he's doing really well. He loves his pacifier, hand holds, and all the extra snuggles.

Colton had the most active day….and maybe a little too active. He learned how to take a pacifier while being held in someone's arms. He started to prepare for the bottle, he hasn't actually taken more than 1 mL yet by mouth and is mostly just sucking on the nipple, but these are the baby steps we've been waiting for.

He also graduated to a big boy bed and is no longer in a warmer…he's officially in a crib!!!! He spent some time on the floor playing on a mat and even got to sit in a big boy chair. He packed a lot into one day.

By the end of it all, he was pretty crabby, which honestly wasn't surprising. We're hopeful that the little episodes and extra temper he's been showing are simply because he's completely exhausted from all the excitement and activity. We'll know more tomorrow and will keep you updated on how he's doing.

Thank you all for continuing to pray for our boys. Today was busy, exciting, exhausting, and a little chaotic…. This momma is exhausted….but seeing both of them continue to make progress makes every wild day worth it.
