Both boys had a really good weekend. It almost feels scary to even say that out loud, knowing how quickly things can change, but we’re choosing to hold onto and celebrate the small wins right now.
Colton has had a bit of an up-and-down stretch with some of his medications as the team works on weaning him off certain pain meds and his heparin. Overall, he’s been doing well and spending a lot of time resting, which is exactly what his little body needs.
Declan has had less bleeding, which is such a huge answer to prayer. If things continue in this direction, we’re hoping to start feeds in the next couple of days and see how his stomach handles it. If all goes well, surgery could be on the horizon within the next week or two, hopefully sometime right after Easter. He’s also been resting well and even had his oxygen down to 24%, which is amazing.
Dad was in town this weekend and got to fully step in, taking care of the boys and doing all their cares today. It was so special to watch, and even sweeter seeing the boys recognize him in their own little ways. They love his hand holds.
Overall, we’re walking into this new week feeling grateful for a good weekend and hopeful for more days like these. Mondays tend to bring new plans and bigger decisions, as the care team looks ahead and takes next steps. We’re praying for wisdom, steady progress, and hopefully even more good updates to share tomorrow.
Thank you for continuing to love, pray, and support our boys 💙💙
