Today’s update on our brave boys.
Colton:
The surgery team came in today to drain the bump on his wrist and take a culture. There was quite a bit of pus, but he did so good. It was fast and smooth and Mom even got to watch her tough little guy handle it like a champ.
He’s had a busy day and is on oxygen to help him out. We’re really hoping he gets some good, deep rest tonight. Our little man needs it. He keeps fighting, even on the hard days.
Declan:
Declan is having a pretty good day overall. We are keeping a close eye on some of his levels and his liver, but there isn’t much that can be done until we’re able to go back into his stomach. Waiting is hard.
But a Big moment today, they removed the drain tube from his belly. No issues at all. One second it was there, the next the surgeon pulled it out. He didn’t even flinch. What a trooper.
He did have some IV trouble and needed a new one placed, but once again he handled it like a champ. This little jelly bean is stronger than most adults I know. He just needs to rest, grow, and keep showing us that strength.
Both boys continue to surprise us every single day. The days can feel heavy, but we have full faith in them. They are fighters, and we are so proud to be their parents. 💙💙

Not a moment goes by that we’re not praying and rooting for you all. team Lehr!
