March 6th

It’s been a roller coaster of a week, so why not let Friday be just as up and down. Thank you for all the prayers over the last few weeks, especially the last couple of days. The boys have really felt every single one of them, so keep them coming. God is good and prayers are working, We have hope and faith in our babies!

Declan had another good day. His wound looks amazing, and we are very eager to see what the surgery team will say in the upcoming weeks. The longer we can go, the more time his intestines have to grow, which is exactly what we want. His liver is looking good, and he is getting more discharge out of his belly, which is a good thing.

We are happy to announce that he is actually pooping out of his belly. It’s been happening for about a week now, but we’re finally seeing some consistency, so we feel comfortable sharing it. Mom may already have way too many photos on her phone to document it all. This is a huge step and could mean there is a potential future for Declan. We are celebrating every little win. Keep the prayers coming for this miracle. Let’s keep surprising all the surgeons, doctors and nurses. Declan deserves it.

Colton is still on the struggle bus. He’s having a hard time with his oxygen and likes to play a game of clamping down and not breathing, which has scared mommy a few times. He did get the results of his X-ray today, and thankfully his infection has not spread, which is a great sign. We’re hoping the antibiotics continue to do their job and help clear the infection from his blood and his left arm bone. We need all the prayers and positive thoughts coming his way. Once the infection is clear we will discuss his PDA and next steps.

Both boys had eye exams today, and thankfully both were good with no action needed right now. We’ll see the eye doctor again in two weeks. With prematurity and being dependent on so much oxygen, there’s a good chance they may need some intervention down the road, but we’re hoping it’s minimal compared to everything else they’re already facing.

Overall, the boys are hoping to see their daddy soon. It’s been a couple of days since he’s been able to visit due to illness and other priorities, and they definitely miss him.

The days continue to be full of ups and downs, but we are grateful for the small wins and keep holding on to hope. Thank you for the continued prayers, love, and support for our little fighters. 💙💙

It’s been a few days of consistency, and we are loving every bit of that. After so many ups and downs, steady days feel like such a gift. Dad was in town for a few days, and the boys and I soaked up e
