March 7th

Yesterday: Only a few small updates today as we are letting the boys rest. This week has been especially rough on Colton, so quiet days are exactly what he needs.

Declan is trying out a new accessory and now has a little bag on his belly. This will help the team see how much discharge and poop is coming out. This is promising news. We still won’t know for sure what his quality of life and long-term outcome will look like until they go back in, but we have all the faith in the world in him. He’s a warrior.

Colton is resting, no touching!!! He still has his moments and ups and downs, but they haven’t been as extreme. Right now he just needs rest. He does seem to be feeling a bit better. The good news is that so far his infection appears to be controlled and not spreading. We’ll do another X-ray next week. Hopefully we don’t need to attempt the MRI again… Colton already said no.

Daddy came to visit this weekend and the boys were so good for him. So good that Declan even got some 1:1 time and was held for a little bit. Such a precious moment.

Keep praying and thinking about the boys we have a long journey but treasuring the moments like today as much as we can. 💙💙
